Helpful to know

Common insurance questions from clients across LA County.

Will my insurance cover group therapy as well as individual sessions?

Most behavioral-health plans cover both individual and group psychotherapy when delivered by a licensed clinician. Coverage and copays for group sessions sometimes differ from individual, which is one of the things we confirm with your plan before your first session.

What if Pasadena Clinical Group is out-of-network for my plan?

We can provide superbills you submit to your insurance for partial reimbursement under your out-of-network mental-health benefit. Our coordinator can also estimate likely reimbursement before you start.

Do I need a referral or prior authorization?

Most plans do not require a referral for outpatient psychotherapy, but a few HMO and Medi-Cal managed-care plans do. We will check this for you and handle the paperwork on our end where possible.

I'd rather not use insurance for privacy reasons. Is that an option?

Yes. We offer self-pay arrangements for clients who prefer to keep treatment outside their insurance record. Our care coordinator will explain transparent self-pay rates with no surprise fees.
