Specialized OCD therapy — individual, group, and intensive options across LA County.

Pasadena Clinical Group offers a full continuum of evidence-based OCD treatment services for adults across the greater Los Angeles area. Whether you need weekly individual therapy with an ERP-trained psychologist, a small private group of adults working through similar themes, or short-term intensive support, our outpatient program is structured around what the OCD research literature actually shows works.

Treatment options

Four pathways into OCD recovery, all under one roof.

Most clients benefit from a combination — an individual ERP-trained therapist plus a structured group cohort — but every plan is built around your schedule, severity, and goals.

Individual OCD Therapy

Confidential weekly sessions with a California-licensed clinician trained in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Inference-Based CBT, and contemporary OCD subtype work. Sessions are paced to be challenging without being destabilizing. Available in-person at our Pasadena office and via secure California telehealth.

  • 50-minute sessions, weekly cadence
  • ERP-based, individualized treatment plans
  • In-person or California telehealth

OCD Support & Therapy Groups

Small, private group cohorts run by a licensed clinician for adults working with similar OCD presentations. Groups are not generic peer-support sessions — they are clinically structured around OCD-specific themes such as the OCD loop, ERP rationale, uncertainty tolerance, reassurance seeking, and family dynamics. We run dedicated cohorts that center on shared OCD themes.

  • 6–10 members, capped for depth
  • Closed cohorts & rolling admission options
  • Closed and open cohorts available

Intensive Outpatient Support

For clients whose OCD is interfering with work, parenting, or daily life in a way that calls for more than one session per week, we offer short, structured intensives that combine individual ERP work with group therapy and care coordination. Designed to give Los Angeles clients meaningful traction in weeks, not months.

  • Multi-session weeks, structured plan
  • Step-down to weekly care after intensive
  • Coordinated with primary care & psychiatry

Telehealth Across California

Secure, HIPAA-aware video sessions for clients anywhere in California. We see clients across the LA basin, the San Gabriel Valley, the South Bay, the Westside, the Valley, and beyond — people who would otherwise lose their evening to LA traffic. Telehealth groups and individual sessions are clinically equivalent to in-person care for OCD treatment.

  • Available statewide in California
  • Same-day technical support
  • Hybrid in-person + telehealth plans
How it works

A clear, four-step path from first phone call to lasting change.

We are deliberate about pacing. The first job is not exposure — it is making sure you know what you are signing up for and that you trust the clinician across from you.

1 Step 1

Confidential intake conversation

A 20-minute phone or video conversation with our care coordinator to understand what you are experiencing, verify your insurance benefits, answer questions, and decide whether scheduling a clinical assessment is the next step.

2 Step 2

Clinical assessment & care plan

A senior California psychologist meets with you to identify your OCD subtype(s), rule out look-alike conditions, and recommend a treatment combination — individual, group, intensive, or a blend — that fits your life.

3 Step 3

Structured ERP & group work

You begin individual sessions with an ERP-trained clinician and, when appropriate, join a small group cohort. We move at a humane pace; exposures are collaborative, never coercive, and matched to your real-life situations across LA.

4 Step 4

Maintenance & relapse-resilience

Once symptoms stabilize, we step down session frequency and build a clear plan for handling the inevitable spikes that come with stress, life changes, postpartum periods, or new triggers — so progress sticks.

A note on group therapy

Why group is one of the most underrated treatments for OCD.

Many of the clients we work with in Los Angeles have never met another person who openly shares the kind of intrusive thoughts they live with. The shame is enormous. In a well-run OCD group, that shame loses most of its grip in a single session.

Our groups are not "share circles." They are structured, clinician-led cohorts where members learn the OCD model, name their compulsions out loud, hear how other clients navigate similar themes, and practice ERP principles together. Group is not a downgrade from individual care — it is its own evidence-supported treatment, and many clients find it accelerates progress.
